The 2022 Honda Civic is available in four trim levels: the LX, Sport, EX, and Touring. The standard engine is a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter that can deliver up to 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque, while the upgraded version is a turbocharged 1.5-liter with up to 180 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque. Both engines pair with a smooth-shifting continuously variable automatic transmission that’s excellently tuned to deliver the power you need. The optional turbocharged engine is not only slightly more powerful but also reaches maximum power at lower revs than the 2.0-liter one, making it easier to drive around town. 

Performance-wise, 2022 Civic stays true to its reputation as a fast sedan. While the base engine can push it to a speed of 60 miles per hour from a standstill in a respectable 8.2 seconds, when it’s equipped with the turbocharged engine, it can reach the same speed in only 6.7 seconds. Besides being quick off the mark, the Civic is stable and agile when cornering, giving the impression of a much smaller and lighter car. 

Interior Comfort

Sedans are known not only for their elegance and agility but also for their interior comfort. The 2022 Honda Civic scores high marks in this category as well, with a cabin that’s both comfortable and highly functional. Both rows of seats offer enough head and legroom to accommodate taller adults, while the wide-opening doors make it easy to get in and out. Higher trims add even more active safety features, with the EX trim introducing a blind-spot monitor that alerts you if you have another vehicle in your blind spot. The Touring trim adds front and rear parking sensors that prevent you from bumping into various objects while backing up, a rear cross-traffic alert system that issues a warning if you’re backing up and another vehicle approaches from either side and low-speed automatic braking that automatically hits the brakes if the car is moving at less than 6 miles per hour and a collision is imminent.
