The 2023 model year offers a few changes to the 2023 Honda Odyssey. The current Odyssey is part of the fifth generation, which was initially introduced with the 2018 model year. Here’s what you can expect to be new for the 2023 Odyssey:

Different Trim Levels Offered

The base LX trim will no longer be available, resulting in a slight bump in the price for an Odyssey. Honda dropped the LX trim and replaced it with a mid-level Sport trim, which offers a new aesthetic for this minivan. You can purchase the 2023 Odyssey in five trims: EX, EX-L, Sport, Touring, and Elite. The MSRPs are:

The new Sport trim features a near-sinister look with blacked-out exterior components, including the grille, door mirrors, B- and C-pillars, trim around the headlights, and its 19-inch wheels. You can get the Sport in three primary exterior paint colors: Crystal Black Pearl, Platinum White Pearl, and Radiant Red Metallic. For the first time, Sonic Gray Pearl will also be available as an option on several Odyssey trims, including the Sport. The unique and bold styling of the Sport trim is guaranteed to turn heads when you drive down the road.

Inside the Sport, you’ll find a black headliner and roof pillar linings that create a mono-color look. The dashboard, front door panels, and footwells feature red ambient lighting. You’ll enjoy the look of the black leather upholstery, which adds contrasting red stitching for the first two rows of seats and steering wheel. The sporty interior design will be the talk of your neighborhood when you pull up in the 2023 Odyssey.

New Honda Service Pass

The 2023 Honda Odyssey is the first vehicle to feature a Honda Service Pass. This service plan covers complimentary scheduled maintenance for your new Odyssey for two years or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first. The Honda Service Pass covers tire rotation, oil and filter changes, and multipoint inspections. The goal is to lower the overall expense of owning a Honda Odyssey and help you properly maintain your vehicle so you can keep it running at an optimal level.

The Honda Service Plan covers the services that Odyssey’s Maintenance Minder system recommends when they are performed at a participating Honda dealership. Our service department at Performance Kings Honda in Cincinnati, Ohio, looks forward to providing your new Odyssey with the care it deserves through the Honda Service Plan.

The Honda Odyssey You Know and Love

The changes for the 2023 model year include trading out the LX for a Sport trim and adding the Honda Service Plan; everything else about the Honda Odyssey remains unchanged. The Odyssey will remain the top-selling minivan you know and love. Standard exterior features include LED headlights, power-sliding rear doors, and heated exterior mirrors. Higher trims add a sound-reducing windshield, sunroof, and power liftgate. The top-of-the-line Elite features automatic wipers, power-folding and auto-dimming exterior mirrors, sound-reducing rear and side window glass, and a hands-free power tailgate.

A 3.5-liter V-6 engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission that delivers 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque is available under the hood of each trim level for the 2023 Odyssey. This engine delivers 28 mpg on the highway, giving you and your family more time on the road and saving you money at the pumps.

Every Odyssey features Magic Slide second-row seats and hide-away third-row seats for various cargo configurations. You also get a rear-seat reminder, tri-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, power-adjustable front seats, a seven-speaker sound system, and an 8-inch touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard features. Higher trims offer driver’s seat memory settings, leather upholstery, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a Wi-Fi hot spot, an integrated navigation system, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, wireless charging, an 11-speaker premium stereo, and a rear-seat entertainment system.

Safety and driver-assistance features also remain unchanged. The 2023 Odyssey has an advanced air bag system, forward collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure mitigation, and a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert on all five trims. On the Touring trim, you also get a rear-cabin camera monitoring system (CabinWatch) as well as front and rear parking sensors. The Elite upgrades your Odyssey with an intercom system called CabinTalk.

When Will Honda Offer a Hybrid Option for the Odyssey?

Right now, the only Honda vehicles that are available in a hybrid option are the CR-V and Accord. Honda previously also sold a hybrid version of the Civic, called the Insight, but production of that vehicle ceased in June 2022. Unfortunately, the 2023 Honda Odyssey is not equipped to handle a hybrid powertrain due to the size of the vehicle.

That means the first possible introduction of a Honda Odyssey hybrid option could be with the sixth generation, which will begin production in mid-2023 for the 2024 model year. Honda is developing a hybrid powertrain that can handle the size and weight of the Odyssey, so we should see that option soon.
