Cincinnati, OH is a fun, interesting city with lots of appealing attractions. It also has an excellent selection of antique stores with attractive, eclectic inventories. You can visit some great thrift stores and yard sales as well. Here are some of the best places to shop for antiques in the Cincinnati area.

Every Now & Then Antique Furniture Mall 

At Every Now & Then, you can explore a wide inventory and hunt for great bargains. This family-owned business is in Reading, about 20 minutes away from downtown Cincinnati, and it opened in 1976. It’s inside a beautiful, 140-year-old historic building in the bridal district, and it offers three floors of antique furniture.

You can find individual pieces or sets in many types of wood from the 1800s to the 1960s. Choose an attractive dresser, wardrobe, or chest-of-drawers for your bedroom; a dining room table; or a unique coffee table or china cabinet. You can also have a bed repaired or converted to a larger size. Every Now & Then is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., or you can make an appointment anytime.

Wooden Nickel Antiques

Wooden Nickel Antiques offers antique furniture, lighting, bars, stained glass, and more. Their best-selling items are beautifully restored antique saloon and home bars from the 1880s to the 1900s. They’re ideal for homes, hotels, and restaurants. You can also find a variety of ornamental mirrors, stained glass window panes, chandeliers, Art Deco lamps and light fixtures, and garden furnishings, fountains, and sculptures. This place is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Riverside Centre Antique Mall

The Riverside Centre Antique Mall provides a fun, funky experience, and Cincinnati Magazine called it the Best of the City. It covers 30,000 square feet, and it houses more than 100 vendors with a wide range of prices and items. Many people call it a vintage vacation, and on weekends, staff members offer visitors coffee or water and a cookie. You can also get a cocktail at the Swampwater Grill next door and then sip and shop.

A huge range of items are available, and Riverside Centre Antique Mall is a popular place for people who create period films to shop for props and set pieces. You can visit Monday through Thursday from noon to 6 p.m.; Friday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Flamingo Haven Antique Mall

Flamingo Haven Antique Mall specializes in quirky knickknacks and wall art that would fit in well at a Cincinnati snowbird’s winter getaway. Past items on sale include cute Art Deco porcelain cats, glow-in-the-dark uranium glass vases, and a big, velvet portrait of Elvis. You can also check out a large collection of vintage jewelry and clothing. Remember to say hello to Winton, this store’s fluffy resident cat. You can often see him relaxing around the store. Flamingo Haven is open from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays, and it closes at 5 p.m. on weekends.

Recycle Cincinnati

At Recycle Cincinnati, you can find treasures that were once trash. It’s in Silverton, about 15 minutes away from downtown Cincinnati, and the friendly staff will pick up unwanted items or even help clear out a house for free. Some of the things they pick up to get sent to recyclers or donated to local charities. The best stuff gets a spot at their 2,000-square-foot showroom.

You can find antique furniture, vintage bikes, chandeliers, and artwork. There’s also a Wurlitzer piano and a pinball machine from the 1970s. Along with antiques, you can find amazing deals on TVs, appliances, lawn equipment, power tools, and more. Shopping here also helps keep lots of cool stuff out of landfills. You can visit Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. Appointments are available on other days. 

Waynesville Antique Mall

Waynesville Antique Mall is about 45 minutes away from the center of Cincinnati in Waynesville’s historic downtown area, and it’s been open for more than three decades. Over 50 dealers display a wide variety of collectibles and antiques on the first level, and the second level is the home of Old Village Bookseller. It specializes in books about American history, military history, the history of Ohio, biographies, autobiographies, and historical fiction. The brick building has been there since 1882, and it was originally a dry goods store.

The Waynesville Street Faire is on several days in summer, and it’s a great time to shop at Waynesville Antique Mall. You can explore a wide selection of vendors selling antiques, crafts, and fresh fruits and vegetables. You can also enjoy live music and food trucks, including Smokin Bark BBQ, Mickey’s Salsa, and Kona Ice. Waynesville Antique Mall is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

Redemption Antiques 

This place is also in Waynesville, and it has lots of interesting, unusual pieces. Past items on sale include a cow skull with big reading glasses, a meat grinder with a doll’s arm sticking out of it, a working optometrist’s chair, and a sculpture of Krampus, Santa Claus’s evil counterpart who scares kids instead of giving them presents.

The inventory changes frequently, so it’s easy to find fun, new stuff, and antiques. You can also have wood, metal, or leather items, including couches, cabinets, and chairs, restored or repaired. You can visit on most days from noon to 5 p.m., and Redemption Antiques is closed on Monday.

Ohio Valley Antique Mall 

You can easily spend a whole day browsing Ohio Valley Antique Mall. It covers 85,000 square feet, and it has more than 550 dealers. You can find collectibles, vintage clothing, and antique books, clothing, furniture, jewelry, and accessories. There’s also a cafe and a customer lounge inside the store. It’s open every day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
