Honda Pilot Interior Feature Updates for 2023
For 20 years, the Honda Pilot has delivered a spacious and dependable ride for people across the country. While the Pilot has changed and adapted over the years, this family-friendly SUV remains one of the best models in its class. The 2023 Honda Pilot is no exception to this standard of excellence. This fourth-generation Pilot comes in five trim levels, each delivering unique attributes. New to this year’s Pilot are all-terrain tires, a seven-mode drive system, a power tailgate, and the Honda Sensing System. In addition to these new exterior features, the Pilot includes a range of top-of-the-line interior features that make driving or riding in this vehicle a fun, comfortable, and safe experience.
Interior Overview
The new Pilot has added numerous interior features to improve its convenience for each passenger. Similarly, Honda has removed the previous generation Pilot’s previous inboard front armrests, low center console, and front quarter windows in favor of a more SUV-style design and accompanying features.
Seating
Your Honda Pilot is sure to have comfortable and stylish seating, regardless of which trim you choose. As a larger SUV, the 2023 Honda Pilot can seat up to eight passengers. At 3.4 inches longer than the models of previous generations, the latest Pilot uses its extra length to improve legroom in the second and third rows while simultaneously increasing the available cargo capacity. This greater length means 2.4 inches of added second-row legroom and over half an inch of added third-row legroom.
You can also reconfigure the Pilot’s second row in the Touring and Elite trims by either removing the middle seat for a second-row pass-through or folding it down for second-row captain’s chairs and an accompanying center console. Moreover, because it fits in a storage cubby under the cargo floor, you can complete these reconfigurations on the go. The second-row seats can also recline up to 10 degrees, making your passengers’ ride even more comfortable.
But these seating upgrades aren’t limited to the second and third rows. The Pilot’s two front seats use “body-stabilizing” technology to help reduce fatigue on long road trips. Every Pilot trim also has heaters in these front two seats to keep you toasty warm during even the coldest days. Finally, the Pilot’s base model, the Sport, has cloth upholstery, but every other trim level includes leather seating.

Dashboard and Infotainment System
The Honda Pilot’s dashboard is sleek and straightforward. The Sport trim comes with a 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system, which increases to 9 inches for most other models, except the Elite, which has a 10-inch touch screen. Honda has also upgraded this system to include a quicker processor for faster input response and added an embedded navigation system.
Similarly, Honda has redesigned the Pilot’s dashboard to reduce glare and reflections in the windshield. The Pilot’s high-mounted infotainment screen is also perfect for keeping your eyes on the road, even when checking directions.
This infotainment system has wireless compatibility for EX-L and higher trims, enabling voice-command navigation, sending or receiving calls and texts, and playing wireless audio. These trims also come with a new and faster wireless phone charger below the touch screen, so you can charge your phone while playing music without fumbling around with cables.
The Touring and Elite models also come with a 12-speaker Bose Centerpoint surround-sound audio system. With Bose delivering the highest quality audio, your daily commute or road trip soundtrack has never sounded better. The Touring also offers a Wi-Fi hotspot so that you and your passengers can connect on the go.

Cargo Space
As previously stated, the 2023 Pilot’s extra length, combined with its longer wheelbase, significantly increases cargo space. This latest generation of the Honda Pilot has 22.4 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the third-row seats. That’s up from 16.5 cubes in the previous model and is more than Pilot competitors, such as the Kia Telluride or Toyota Highlander. If you want even more cargo space, you can fold down the second-and third-row seats for up to 113.7 cubic feet of storage.
Plus, with bins and shelves on all four doors, passengers have numerous storage spaces for their personal items. Similarly, the Pilot now has a whopping 14 cupholders, eight of which can hold 32-ounce water bottles. This added length and new storage spaces make the Pilot ideal for families, outdoor enthusiasts, or just heavy packers.
Other Features
New to the Pilot is a standard heating steering wheel – perfect for those cold winter morning commutes. Similarly, the TrailSport and Elite trims have rear-side window shades and triple-zone climate control with rear air-conditioning vents. These features help keep you and your passengers comfortable, no matter the weather or time of day.
You can power any of your devices with rear USB-C charging ports and a 115-volt power outlet. And your passengers won’t need to hog your front ports for their charging needs. Finally, the optional one-touch power panoramic moonroof is ideal if you want to see more of the outdoors during your travels. This easy-to-use moonroof brings you closer to the outdoors without leaving your vehicle.
